ARETE Service to Safety™| Workplace Violence Prevention and De-escalation training gives employees the practical skills needed to effectively respond to and safely manage a full range of behaviours, from low-level agitation, and verbal abuse through to escalated behaviours, threats, and acts of violence. As a result, workers assume greater responsibility for their safety, while recognizing their critical role in responding to situations and behaviours.
This training benefits a wide range of industries, including healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, public services, corporate offices, social services, emergency services, manufacturing, and financial services. Any organization where employees interact with the public or work in high-stress environments can gain valuable skills in managing and de-escalating potentially volatile situations.
Health care workers often face violence and aggression on the job—sometimes from their patients or clients, and other times from patients’ family members. As subject experts, ARETE Training was invited by WorkSafeBC to produce a series of PSAs to promote the need for workplace violence prevention training.
